Activity Coordinator

Robert Spence

Robert Spence knows the program he works in because he lived it first. He came to Prescott House as a client and completed long-term treatment in January 2021, and within a month he was back, this time on staff, helping other men find what he had found. He had been through two short-term 28-day programs in Florida before this, and neither one stuck. Long-term care was what finally worked for him, and that conviction is the heart of how he shows up every day.

As Activity Coordinator, Robert runs the parts of the program where recovery gets practiced rather than just talked about. He leads hiking and outdoor activities, takes the men to the gym, and runs a weekend cooking and nutrition group where they actually prepare a meal together. For Robert, these are not just activities. They are life skills, the daily, physical, hands-on work of learning to take care of yourself again, body and mind, after addiction has stripped that away.

Outside of work, Robert is a dedicated weightlifter, an avid cook, a cyclist, and someone happiest outdoors. He pours that same energy into his groups, and he considers it a privilege to help other men build the kind of recovery he is grateful to have found himself.
