Dr. Terry A. Vaughan

MD

Dr. Vaughan is a Psychiatrist with the philosophy of treating each patient as an individual according to the patient’s individual needs. A graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine, she is a respected and experienced in the mental health community with over 25 years of experience through West Yavapai Guidance Clinic and Psychiatric Services of Prescott.

Jeff Martin

MEd, MA, LPC, CSAT Supervisor

Jeff Martin leads our clinical group with his experience, training, and wisdom gleaned from his 20 years in the field of addiction. He closely oversees the daily operations of the clinical staff and works to ensure that the individual treatment needs of each client are realized throughout the client’s progression in the Prescott House program. Prior to becoming Clinical Director at Prescott House in 2010, Jeff held the position of primary therapist in the residential phase of our program for several years. The therapeutic insight, professionalism, and objectivity that Jeff demonstrates, helps guide the clinicians and clients alike. Jeff received his BS in Substance Abuse Counseling and a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University. Jeff completed a master’s degree in counseling from Prescott College and is an approved supervisor for the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health.

Dr. Kristi Husk

Psy.D, CBIS

Dr. Kristi Husk is an experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist and Health Psychologist for adults with over twelve years of experience as a licensed psychologist, in both the state of Arizona and in the state of New Hampshire. Completing her American Psychological Association accredited internship at Malcolm Randall VA Hospital in neuropsychology and geropsychology, Dr. Husk also achieved her postdoctoral training at the Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Husk specializes in neuropsychology, with the belief that human health is influenced by social, psychological, and biological factors. With a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, Psy.D., along with a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Dr. Kristi Husk provides Prescott House clients acute psychiatric care.

Doug Winter

MS, LISAC, CSAT

Doug holds a master’s degree in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, completed a post-graduate certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Pot University and has been a member of the Prescott House team since 2010. In 2014 he completed the training program to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and utilizes the vast resources contained in that training to help create an environment where a person can grow. He specializes in treating complex trauma, co-occurring disorders, eating disorders and sexual addiction.

He has an eclectic style of interpersonal treatment, pulling from various modalities in order to facilitate healing and progress the underdeveloped characteristics of a person that drive their disfunction and suffering.

Doug loves spending time with his three children by playing and coaching hockey with his oldest son, creating things with his daughter, going on mini-adventures with his youngest child, along with running and being outdoors.

Chris Sobel

LASAC, MS

Chris earned his Master’s Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling from Grand Canyon University and specializes in BSP (Brainspotting). He holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University (Summa Cum Laude) and has worked at Prescott House since 2005. He has been an active member in the recovery community in Prescott since 2002. In his work with each client, he brings forthrightness, inspiring life experience, and a commitment to helping men recover from addiction and addiction related issues. Chris has many passions including golf, softball, NY Mets baseball, Sun Devil Football and – most importantly – spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Colten Curtis

BHT

Colten has been with the Prescott House since 2010. Both insightful and compassionate, Colten enjoys being part of the recovery process for many men struggling with addiction. “Watching people heal and get better is a joy that I am truly grateful for. I get to see the miracle of recovery happen every day and there just isn’t anything better than that.”

David Glasser

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, David Glasser is a proud graduate of Prescott House. Utilizing what he learned through the Prescott House, his passion and interest developed into finding ways to give back and help men with similar struggles. As a Primary Therapist at Prescott House, he is doing just that by combining his tools of education in clinical mental health, and life experiences, to help guide men to a place of peace and fulfillment in life. David’s path of accomplishments continues as he is currently completing training to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.

Michael Frost

MS

Michael Frost graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner. A member the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Nurse Association, he is a specialist in pain medicine and nursing he has been serving the Prescott area for over 10 years.

Matthew Cooper

Born and raised in Connecticut, Matt is an accomplished individual with a degree in chemistry from Southern Connecticut State University. Despite his academic success, his true passion has always been helping others, a drive that led him to his current position at Prescott House.

Matt is an active member of the volunteer community in Prescott, dedicating his time to attending meetings and sponsoring young men in early recovery. His commitment to the 12-step program is evident in the grand-sponsees he has taken under his wing, offering guidance and support in their journeys towards sobriety.

Beyond his dedication to the recovery community, Matt is an avid outdoor enthusiast, often found exploring the beautiful landscapes surrounding Prescott. He also has a unique taste for exotic food and a love of comedy, always ready to share a good laugh with those around him.

Chris Cox is from Houston, Texas. He has a passion for helping men in early recovery and being of service, as he began working at Prescott House in 2018. He has a 3 year old daughter, and enjoys the gym and outdoor activities during free time.

Nutritionist – MS, RDN, CDCES, MBEC

A professional nutritionist, Rita Rubin, finds helping others practice healthy eating a passion. Leading Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s Your Healthy Kitchen, Rita shares recipes and tips for fresh food preparation through social media. These insights are critical to Prescott House individuals as they flourish in recovery that we have developed around a healthy relationship with food and exercise. Rita’s approach is straightforward, “I help people create a healthy way of eating and living that is sustainable, joyful, and truly their own.”

Marsha J. Gehl

Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher

Marsha Gehl is helping others find mindfulness in recovery through trauma resolution. Marsha’s approach to meditation comes from her in-depth knowledge and experience by excelling in multiple certifications during the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. Using Advanced Professional Training in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, Mindfulness​-based Mind Fitness Training (MMFT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Marsha helps Prescott House individuals develop life-skills and recovery tools with purpose, patience and meaning.

Christena Vandegrift

Conscious Yoga & Conscious Coaching

A certified Life Coach from Yandara Yoga Institute, Christena has also earned a 500HR RYT Certification, 100HR Yin & Restorative Yoga. She is a Reiki Master who develops positive growth and transformation through balancing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. What makes her a unique addition to Prescott House is her history of education in Psychology & Humanities, and is also a four-time Graduate of Landmark Education Personal & Professional Self-Development Courses. This experience allows Christena to work with a wide variety of individuals while customizing therapies & sessions to meet the needs of each.

Shane Kemp

Shane Kemp is from Phoenix, AZ and is an essential part of our team as a our Overnight Case Manager at Prescott House. Working in recovery has been a great journey for Shane Kemp through helping others. Shane Kemp has studied in ECT / CET (Electrical Engineering). Shane Kemp enjoys competing professionally in car audio events, primarily focused on the Subsonic Class during free time. Spence is from Clearwater, Fl and is an essential part of our team as a Case Manager at Prescott House. Jim Coombs

Jim spent his early years in Chicago, IL and grappled with the effects of addiction for much of his young adult life before entering the Prescott House as a client in 2005. His passion for helping others recover from this progressive disease has extended to wilderness treatment, youth programs, and other myriad therapeutic settings. His strong belief in spiritual based recovery has guided his parallel professional career into helping individuals and families seeking recovery for their loved ones. Jim’s confidence in Prescott House’s vigorous program of recovery helped facilitate his return to rejoin the professional team at the Prescott House.

Mike Murphy

Michael Murphy is from Silver Spring, MD and is an essential part of our team as a Business Office Manager at Prescott House. Following graduation from York in 2009, he found himself struggling with substances while searching for direction. Mike attended Prescott House in 2014 and embraced the program, becoming an active member in Prescott’s 12-step community. Finding a passion in helping others through their struggles with addiction, Mike began working at the Prescott House in 2016. Working in recovery has been a great journey for Michael Murphy by helping others, giving and receiving gratitude, living a healthy lifestyle, and being active in the recovery community. Michael Murphy has graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Major and Marketing Minor. Michael Murphy enjoys PC Gaming, Mountain Biking, and anything outdoors during his free time.
