Dayton Turberville | MED, LISAC, CSAT, CMAT

Dayton Turberville is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Arizona, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist. He received his Master of Education with an emphasis in Counseling & Human Relations from Northern Arizona University. Dayton has worked in the fields of addiction and behavioral health since 1999, including clinical and administrative roles in public and private agencies. Prior to becoming Executive Director of Prescott House, Dayton served as our Clinical Director, as well as primary and adjunct therapist.His dedication to the mission of Prescott House and a strong commitment to the clients’ success are indispensable to the overall effectiveness of the program. Dayton’s door is always open to both staff and clients.

Fred Markham | MD
Medical Director since 1988

Dr. Markham is Board-Certified in internal medicine and a former member of the Medical Staff at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. A graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine, he is a respected and experienced emergency room physician with a private practice in Prescott. Dr. Markham is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Jeffrey Penney | MD
Psychiatrist since 2001

Consulting Psychiatrist Since 2001 Dr. Penney received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati and completed his residency training, specializing in Psychiatry, at Washington University in St. Louis. He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and specializes in psychopharmacology with interests in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and thought disorders.

Virginia Conner, EdD, PC Neuropsychologist since 1993

Virginia Conner | EdD, PC
Neuropsychologist since 1993

Virginia Conner received her doctorate at Northern Arizona University and went on to do a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Braintree Hospital in affiliation with Boston University Medical School and Tufts New England Medical Center. She taught numerous graduate courses in neuropsychology subsequently at Northern Arizona University, and was an associate professor part-time.She has worked in hospitals and neurological clinics, and currently has a private practice in Prescott. She is on staff at Yavapai Regional Medical Center and Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, is a fellow in the American College of Forensic Examiners, and is on contract as a mental health expert for the Yavapai County Superior Court.

Jeff Martin | MEd, MA, LAC
Licensed Associate Counselor

Jeff Martin leads our clinical group with his experience, training, and wisdom gleaned from his 20 years in the field of addiction. He closely oversees the daily operations of the clinical staff and works to ensure that the individual treatment needs of each client are realized throughout the client’s progression in the Prescott House program. Prior to becoming Clinical Director at Prescott House in 2010, Jeff held the position of primary therapist in the residential phase of our program for several years. The therapeutic insight, professionalism, and objectivity that Jeff demonstrates help guide the clinicians and clients alike. Jeff received his Master of Education from Northern Arizona University.

Lincoln Sperry | LCSW, CSAT
Lead Primary Therapist

Lincoln earned his BA in English at University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors. He later earned his Master of Social Work at Arizona State University, with a clinical concentration and internships at Sonora Behavioral Health hospital and Arizona Children Association’s Tucson outpatient clinic. Lincoln completed his intensive Certified Sex Addiction Training with Dr. Patrick Carnes in 2010.He worked for several years as a residential supervisor for an outpatient program in Tucson serving severely mentally ill clients. His areas of special expertise include sexual compulsivity and addictions – particularly with co-morbid psychiatric disorders, and men with eating disorders.

Barbara Rye | MA, LPC, LISAC
Clinical Supervisor

Barbara has worked in the field of addictions and mental health for 30 years. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor, she has experience in inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient and private practice settings. She has provided clinical consultation, training and direct services for various entities including schools and universities, emergency responders, treatment centers and tribal agencies. Though her philosophy of care is eclectic, it is rooted in the genuine belief that all individuals have dignity and an inner wisdom which facilitate healing and growth.

Doug Winter | MS, LISAC, CSAT
Primary Therapist

Doug holds a Masters Degree in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University and has been a member of the Prescott House team since 2010. He specializes in treating sexual addiction, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. Doug has served in a variety of roles at Prescott House including Aftercare Therapist and Eating Disorders Program Coordinator. Doug enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Primary Therapist

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University (Summa Cum Laude) and has been part of the Prescott House team since 2005. He has been an active member in the recovery community in Prescott since 2002. In his work with each client, he brings forthrightness, inspiring life experience, and a commitment to helping men recover from addiction and addiction related issues. Chris has many passions including golf, NY Mets baseball, Sun Devil Football and – most importantly – spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Primary Therapist

Colten has been with the Prescott House since 2010. Both insightful and compassionate, Colten enjoys being part of the recovery process for many men struggling with addiction. “Watching people heal and get better is a joy that I am truly grateful for. I get to see the miracle of recovery happen every day and there just isn’t anything better than that.”

PHASE 1 | Case Manager

Paul has been part of the Prescott House team since 2013. After an extensive career in engineering Paul found a new passion in life helping others recover from addiction. Paul’s life experiences help in assisting clients transition from a treatment environment to living on their own and moving forward with their life. Outside of work and school, where he’s working towards a Master’s of Science in Professional Counseling, Paul enjoys hiking, camping, visiting national parks, and reading.

Robert Pierret
PHASE 1 | Case Manager

Originally from Palo Alto, California, Robert discovered a passion for helping fellow addicts while in treatment at The Prescott House. This passion has now translated into a clear career path for him. Robert is our Phase 1 co-facilitator, as well as a facilitator of process therapy groups here at the Prescott House. Robert is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (BA/BS) at Prescott College and plans to pursue his masters in Clinical Psychology. Robert is happily married and has set down roots in Prescott. He and his wife Kylee have a 2 year old daughter named Ellie and another baby on the way.

Facilitator of Spiritual Companionship

Nancy is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Retired from a long and satisfying career in Human Resources Management, she has since focused on a variety of volunteer activities: Prescott Family Hospice, Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA). She currently is a facilitator of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute programs including Death Cafés, Beyond Right and Wrong: Stories of Justice, and A Different Prime of Life: The Spirituality of Aging. Her spiritual path has given her exposure to many helpful experiences. Through the years, she has found meaningful participation in Ala-Non and has completed the Personal Coaching Certificate program at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, the Nine Gates Mystery School, the Ministry of Spiritual Peacemaking program directed by James Twyman, and she is a graduate of the Hesychia Spiritual Director training program, a multi-faith approach to spiritual guidance. While not a member of a religious tradition, she was raised Roman Catholic and has particularly appreciated the freedom to explore a variety of world religious practices (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Bahá’í Faith, Rastafarianism, Samaritanism, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism). She considers herself to be on a life-long path of spiritual discovery and welcomes engaging with individuals and groups who are also seekers of the God of their understanding and of Truth within their own hearts and souls.

Tim Scanlan | BS
Director of Admissions

Tim grew up in Tucson, AZ and struggled with addiction from an early age. He came to the Prescott House in June of 2014 and has been sober since. He has found his passion in helping people recover from addiction and is an active member of the AA community in Prescott. Recently Tim completed his BS in Applied Human Behavior at Northern Arizona University and plans on entering a Master’s Program to further his education. Tim has worked at the Prescott House since 2015 and is an avid U of A basketball fan.

Outreach & Business Development

Geoff grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended school at the University Of Oklahoma, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. Geoff has been in sales and marketing for over 20 years with experience in Real Estate and Insurance. He is very active in the recovery community in Prescott and is a father of two boys. His passion for helping others in recovery, experience in business and his gratitude for what the Prescott House did for him, makes this the perfect position for him!

Behavior Health Residential Supervisor | Diet & Exercise Coordinator

Born in Mesa, Arizona, Kyle grew up with a passion for sports and played hockey for 15 years. Diet and exercise became a priority and focus to keep in shape for each hockey season. An addiction to prescription pills led to an unhealthy approach to dieting and weightlifting by way of illegal supplements and restrictive eating. Graduating from Prescott House in 2013, Kyle used the tools he learned from the program to develop a healthy approach to eating and utilizing exercise to reduce stress. He has since implemented his sports background into the Prescott House program by working with individuals on nutrition and exercise to help build confidence, instill teamwork, and develop strong life skills. Kyle’s new found passion, is to pass these life lessons on to other men.

Colin Miller

Colin is emphatic about becoming clean at 20 years old. Highly active in the recovery community, his attendance is a vital contribution to the younger generation’s meetings and committees. Currently a student at Yavapai College, Colin plans to transfer to Northern Arizona University to continue working on a degree in social work. With his accumulated knowledge and experience at Prescott House, Colin will head to his hometown in Maryland to assist in combating the opioid epidemic.

Chris Cox

Originally from Houston, Texas, Chris started his successful path at Prescott House in 2015. Finding inspiration in helping fellow alcoholics achieve sobriety, Chris applies his knowledge of recovery to promote a life of fulfillment and happiness into others. Recently engaged and a newfound father of a baby girl, Chris’s utilizes any extra energy towards healthy activities like hunting and weightlifting.

Brian Carlisle

After being raised in northern farm country, Brian received a BS in agricultural business and pursued a career in agriculture and finance before coming to the Prescott House as a client. Brian’s experience in business allows him to assist the clients with financial education as a part of their preparation to live a solid, sober life. Brian enjoys being outdoors and performing in the local music community

Michael Murphy | B.S. from York College of Pennsylvania

Mike was born in Vermont and grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. Following graduation from York in 2009, he found himself struggling with substances while searching for direction. Mike attended Prescott House in 2014 and embraced the program, becoming an active member in Prescott’s 12-step community. Finding a passion in helping others through their struggles with addcition, Mike began working at the Prescott House in 2016.
